Abidexin is a weight loss supplement produced in the USA by NutriPharm LLC. If the name sounds familiar that’s not surprising because Abidexin is nothing more than a rebranded version of Apidexin.

The formulation contains the same ingredients; the only difference is the letter “P” has been turned upside down, changing Apidexin into Abidexin.

The manufacturers state this small change was necessary to prevent consumers from confusing their product with the prescription-only drug Adipex P, but it all seems pretty pointless so we had to wonder if the rebranding was really due to problems with the original product.

If there were any notable issues we failed to discover them in our checks, so we can only conclude the manufacturers really believe substituting one letter for another, very similar-sounding letter, will have a positive impact on their product marketing efforts.

What is Abidexin and How Does it Work?

According to the Abidexin website, use of the formulation can provide three main weight loss benefits:

• Reduces unwanted body fat
• Curbs hunger cravings
• Increases energy and focus

Cutting to the chase, Abidexin is a combined fat burner and appetite suppressant that has a stimulant or two thrown in to provide a little extra pep to the day. Many competing formulations are designed to work in exactly the same way, so this is nothing new. Let’s take a closer look at the formulation and see how it all holds up.

Key Ingredients

Two capsules provide:

• Caffeine Anhydrous (210 mg):  Caffeine in powder form. The amount included here is similar to that provided by a couple of cups of coffee and should easily deliver the promised boosted energy and focus, but the effects are unlikely to last for long and caffeine-related side effects may be an initial problem for some users.

• Green Coffee Bean Extract (200 mg):  Green coffee beans are rich in chlorogenic acid. It has proven fat burning abilities, but many experts agree that a dosage of at least 800mg each day is required to obtain respectable results, so the inclusion rate here is probably a little low.

• Green Select Phytosome Green Tea (150mg):  A trademark-protected green tea extract. Green tea offers many health benefits, and is also known to be a powerful fat burning agent, so it’s a worthwhile inclusion.

• Irvingia Gabonensis (150mg):  Also called African mango seeds. Thanks to an endorsement by the US TV personality Dr. Oz,  irvingia gabonesis has become an increasingly common inclusion in weight loss blends, but one of Oz’ guest experts later backtracked on her endorsement of the ingredient, stating she now considers the results “Underwhelming”.

• Co-Enzyme Q10 (50mg):  An enzyme that is naturally-occurring in the body.  Although it is of significant importance for converting food to energy, the FDA has not approved its use in dietary supplements.

Side Effects & Health Considerations

A few customers complain the capsules upset their stomach and made them feel sick, but the formulation appears to be well tolerated by most people. Caffeine-related side effects such as the jitters, restlessness, headaches etc., cannot be ruled out though, and Co Enzyme Q10 can cause low blood pressure; so all potential Abidexin users are advised to seek medical advice prior to commencing supplementation.
