“Firestorm = red blotchy niacin reaction….maybe.”
Firestorm Ultra Strong is a fat burner made by the company StripFast 5000.
There is no mystery as to where the manufacturer wants it to lie on the strength spectrum. As with some other StripFast 5000 products, it has been formulated with high quantities of stimulants.
How effective is it though?… that’s the question.
Firstly, it should be mentioned that the recipe contains mostly the same ingredients as one of the company’s other strong fat burners, Platinum RX (click here for that review).
However, it has a little more of the two major ingredients: caffeine and bitter orange.
They also call Firestorm their strongest ever diet pill!
Promised Benefits of Firestorm
The company says Firestorm is…
…“ideally for people who have previous experience using diet pills”
That is probably because there is a lot of caffeine and a lot of bitter orange in each pill.
However, as caffeine doesn’t really work for fat burning once you have built a tolerance to it, then it’s a moot point.
Caffeine is a stimulant which you can become tolerant to if you use it too much. Therefore, any “experienced” users will not get the fat burning benefit from it. The best way to use it is to come off it for a while and then take it in cycles.
This means everyone, experienced or not should feel the same effects.
There may be too much caffeine and bitter orange for some people in this blend.
Stripfast 5000 say there are 7 potent natural ingredients in each capsule.
We can only see 5 that are the actual active ingredients (magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide are part of the pill manufacture process):
- Bitter Orange Peel Whole Fruit Powder – 300mg
- Caffeine Anhydrous – 250mg
- Green Tea Extract – 50mg
- Nicotinic Acid – 30mg
- Cayenne Powder – 20mg
Bitter Orange is a source of the controversial ingredient p-synephrine. There is much to be said about this ingredient, and some people see it as a problem.
If used correctly, it is actually one of the more successful thermogenic fat burning compounds. It also comes with scientific backup.
There may be too much in Firestorm to be comfortable with. For more info, check out our profile on synephrine.
Caffeine is in every fat burner apart from non-stimulant ones. It works but it can be pretty useless unless you are already “off’ the caffeine before you start taking it.
We have an article on Caffeine that might interest you.
Green Tea Extract is a popular inclusion these days, and for good reason. It is a super healthy source of polyphenols and catechins.
It also boosts metabolism, hence its purpose in many fat burners. Usually, anywhere from 250 to 500mg is useful for this purpose, but Firestorm contains only 50mg.
Perhaps it’s just a symbolic gesture???
Read more about Green Tea Extract in our article about it.
Nicotinic Acid is a member of the B Vitamin family. The Bs have a lot to do with everything in your body. It’s good.
Cayenne Powder is the powder of hot peppers. They are hot peppers, a concentrated dose of which can increase fat burning.
The 20mg of Cayenne in Firestorm is about as useful as a wet slap in the face.
We find Capsimax (the patented Capsaicin – or Capsicum) – to be a much more efficient fat shredder. Find out more about it in our article: 5 Fat Loss Ingredients that Work.
Always follow the instructions on the product label. If you are worried about the side effects of high stimulants then try and split the dose if you can.
Capsules are difficult to split so maybe avoid products like this if you are sensitive to stimulants.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid Firestorm, as should anyone with a medical condition or on prescription medication.
Just talk to your doctor if you are concerned.
A lot of people mention a red burning rash type response. it’s hard to believe but that’s a normal reaction when taking Niacin (nicotinic acid). It’s harmless (apart from the freak out) and some people even enjoy it.
Most people on Amazon and other such marketplaces seem to drop good reviews but we have come to realize over the years that this can be influenced by companies sending free samples.
Nonetheless, here’s a couple comments that are examples of good and bad.
Will Firestorm from StripFast 5000 Work?
The ingredients, caffeine, bitter orange, cayenne and green tea extract should increase fat burning to an extent BUT the inclusion rates are a bit strange in Firestorm.
The stimulant effect will be strong with this one.
We are seasoned veterans when it comes to feeling stimulants and this one feels like a dirty caffeine spike to be honest. Harsh and jittery.
Side Effects and Health Issues
This isn’t a smooth feeling diet pill. For people drinking 3 cups of coffee a day, it may just make you a little more edgy than you are already (but will have little to no fat burning effect because you are too hopped up already…
…but for caffeine/synephrine noobs – prepare for some nervous system effects that might make you uncomfortable to panicky.
Consult your doctor if you are concerned about taking Firestorm.
Bottom line regarding your health: don’t take anything you are not confident about.
This product seems to be available in the UK.
The Stripfast site itself is a place to buy as is Amazon. We cannot verify whether the discounted products on Amazon UK are always genuine.
We are not into Firestorm, but that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily bad. Some people enjoy the edginess it might give you.
The company does warn you about it after all.
For us, a more sustainable overall weight loss product is the way to go.
PhenQ is currently our favourite, and provides the best ingredients like a-LACYS RESET and CAPSIMAX.
Its a great All-In-One.
