Overview

fat burning drugT5 Max Strength Fat Burner is manufactured by Somatox in the UK and sold, amongst other places online, on Amazon.

Somatox’s motto is “Nectar of Life” and they pride themselves on being vegetarian friendly and producing natural food supplements.

All the ingredients are named on the label, including their inclusion rates, which is a good thing to see, however the formula is nothing to get excited about in our opinion. There are much more effective products available.

T5 Max Strength Fat Burner Detailed Review

Somatox T5 Max Strength LabelSomatox are not just an Amazon brand, something we are pleased to see. All too often, these companies produce terrible supplements and hide behind the anonymity of a third party store on Amazon.

So, there is a way to order directly from the company, albeit at a premium price above the Amazon store option.

The main benefits Somatox would like to get across are as follows:

  • 1300mg of 100% natural ingredients
  • Attacks and Burns Fat
  • Rapidly Increases Energy Levels
  • Stimulates the Thyroid to Increase Metabolic Rate
  • Contains Nothing Artificial, No Fillers and No Binders
  • 30 Day Supply with each bottle
  • Manufactured in UK to ‘strict’ GMP guidelines

To sum up: It’s a fat burner, that gives you energy!

We would ignore the thyroid point. There is no real reason for them to add that, as the ingredients involved do nothing special for the thyroid in terms of increasing metabolism.

Key Ingredients and Formula Strength

The amounts of the ingredients are per 3 capsules, which constitutes the total daily dose (for 30 days use):

  • 750mg – Bitter Orange Peel
  • 300mg – Caffeine
  • 150mg – Acetyl-L-Carnitine
  • 33mg   – Guarana extract
  • 75mg   – Green Tea Extract

Our technical, informed opinion of this formula is: – meh!

caffeineIt’s not that the ingredients are poorly chosen, because they are some of the most recognized and proven ingredients in fat burning.

However, the dosages are weak, and the overall combination is sloppy, with poor attention to details.

An example of that is the Bitter Orange Peel. It is included in fat burners for its active ingredient – synephrine. Bitter Orange’s latin name is Citrus Aurantium.

It is standard procedure to add this information PLUS an accurate amount of the synephrine content.

These things are usually standardized from the manufacturing source of the parent ingredients, and we would think it should be known if a company was actually making products to “strict GMP guidelines”.

Even if it isn’t part of the guidelines, the percentage of synephrine per weight of Bitter Orange is an important factor.

Side Effects and Health Issues

DoctorThe only real potential for side effects is the caffeine dose of 300mg.

This is not an insignificant amount of caffeine but given that you are splitting it into 3 over the course of the day, most people should be fine.

At 100mg per capsule, the most caffeine can do is cause mild effects like dizziness and a little nausea.

Despite this, T5 Max Strength Fat Burner is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Nor is it recommended for people with pre-existing medical conditions or those using prescription medication.

Consult your doctor if you are unsure whether you can take supplements like this one.

Is T5 Max Strength Fat Burner Recommended?

pill questionYou have probably got the message by now, but to be clear: we do not recommend this product.

There are so many fat burners and diet pills with “T5” in their name now that it has become meaningless to use it. For a start, T5 refers to old school fat burning stacks, some of the ingredients in which are no longer allowed in most countries – like ephedrine.

The main reason we can’t recommend this product is the weak formula, and the poor information on the label, neither of which inspire confidence.

Amazon is many things, but a site for quality supplements, it is NOT.

Do yourself a favour and use something with substance, quality and a good track record.
